My skin is oily/combo and I complain about it quite a lot, so I often get asked for my best tips for controlling the oil. I’ve spent a long time trying to get the right balance of products and routines to combat the oil – here are my best tips!

* Check that your skin is actually oily

* Don’t fall into common skincare traps

* Suitable skincare ingredients (but take note of varying evidence levels and different advantages)

* Slightly counter-intuitive, but… dewy make-up over matte make-up

* Multi-sunscreening – yeah I made that word up, sorry not sorry

* Carry blotting papers around

* Consider talking to your doctor about medications and treatments
